[..more]Politics and reality television often are mirror images — each with loudmouth characters, dramatic showdowns and periodic sex scandals.
But the politics we saw on the Treasure Coast last week looked less like reality TV and more like theatrical farce.
It started at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, when U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta, announced in an email he would leave the Treasure Coast to run in the new, more Republican-leaning District 17 west of our area.
Less than an hour later, at 5:02 p.m., freshman U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, revealed via email he would leave District 22 to run in the new Treasure Coast district that Rooney was giving up, District 18.
