FL-18 UPDATE: West Files Motion To Count Paper Ballots
November 07, 2012 at 1:41 pm
In a district that leans Republican by 2 percentage points, Jupiter Democrat Patrick Murphy has St. Lucie and Palm Beach counties’ voters to thank for his lead against Rep. Allen West.
Only consistently red Martin County performed up to its billing for West.
By 6 a.m., with 100 percent of precincts reporting a winner still had not been officially declared. Murphy garnered 160,328 votes to West’s 157,872. That’s a difference of 2,456. Percentage-wise, that’s 50.4 percent to 49.6 percent.
West, who stormed into Congress on the 2010 Tea Party wave, has not conceded the race yet.
Wednesday afternoon lawyers for both Murphy and West arrived at the tabulation center.
West has filed a motion for injunctive relief to “count paper ballots (in Palm Beach County) and to impound voting machines.” Read here.

After all of the poor sport and bullying that Allen West has done to
impede Patrick Murphy’ attempt to let the people know he is also running for Congress-he is certainly not a fair player. Instances on several cameras recorded-he placed his sign in Jupiter on Indiantown Road and Alt AIA just inches in fromt of Murphy obliterating the Muphy sign.
Driving thru Jupiter on many of the streets I frequent the few signs I had seen of Murphy were removed overnight on Nov 5th before election day. Why did’s the police take all signs__I wonder who took them! Every candidate signs for other issues were in tact!
Why Can’t he play fair and play by the rules. Does he fall into the bully catagory? How do his Congressioal peers feel about him???
Go Patrick Go! Ihope the recount is deniedd-we do not need him in Congress1
