President Obama’s campaign released a new TV ad on Thursday, touting the recent endorsement of Colin Powell. The spot will air in Florida and nine other swing states through Election Day.
The new spot, entitled “Solid,” uses footage from Powell’s October 25 interview with CBS’s “This Morning,” in which the former Secretary of State announced his endorsement of Obama.
“I see that we are starting to rise up,” Powell says, before praising Obama for saving the auto industry, stabilizing the economy and fighting terrorism.
“I think we ought to keep on the track that we’re on,” Powell concludes at the end of the 30-second spot.
On Wednesday, the Obama campaign released a 60-second radio ad which also uses portions of Powell’s interview on CBS.
