Mack: Let’s Get Rubio A Gavel

October 01, 2012 at 2:42 pm

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) campaigned with GOP Senate candidate Connie Mack at the Versailles Restaurant in Miami on Monday morning.

“He’s always been such a strong supporter of freedoms and liberty across the globe — not just in Cuba but in places like Venezuela,” Rubio said at the Cuban restaurant. “Connie Mack can do it.”

“Another reason for Connie Mack, we need another majority leader in the U.S. Senate, not just the majority,” Rubio told a crowd of about 60 people gathered at the Miami eatery.

Meanwhile, Mack said he wants to see Rubio rise to a position of power. “We want to make sure that Marco has a gavel in the next Senate,” the Senate hopeful said.

Mack, who is calling his Monday stops with Rubio the “Freedom Fly-Around,” pledged to “bring freedom back to the U.S. government. “If you are not a friend of the Unites States, you will not get a dime from United States,” the Fort Myers congressman pledged.

“There’s a lot of forces on the other side. They’re energized but you know what, we’re energized, too. It’s a team effort and I know with your help, we’ll be successful,” Mack told the crowd.

Mack, who will hold media availability in Tampa later today, refused to take a single question from the press gathered in Miami.
