Reaction To August Jobs Report

Florida pols react to Friday’s August jobs report, showing another month of slow growth:
Sen. Marco Rubio: (R-FL): “Barack Obama and his team came into office with a plan that they said would bring unemployment below 6 percent by the end of his first term in office. Unfortunately, as today’s jobs report showed, it’s been stuck above 8 percent for 43 straight months, and the labor participation rate is now at its worst level in more than 30 years. These numbers confirm what millions of struggling Americans already know: that the Obama economy isn’t working. That’s the reason we must elect Mitt Romney this November – so we can get our fellow Americans working again, grow the middle class, and turn our economy around.”
FL-10 hopeful Val Demings (D): “Dan Webster said it, and I agree: The sluggish economy and Congress’ inaction will play pivotal role in this election. Today’s “worse-than-expected” employment numbers underscores the need for Congress to take action. In 2010, Webster told voters he would work to fix Congress and work across the aisle to get things done. His record shows him doing the opposite. We don’t need more rhetoric from career politicians. Central Florida needs a leader who will work for us.”
Senate hopeful/Rep. Connie Mack (R-FL): “Three days of fantasy storytelling in Charlotte came to a sobering reality this morning for Bill Nelson and Barack Obama as the country faces another month of unemployment over 8%. What is even more troubling is that the rate of under-employed individuals has risen by another million since 2008, or 42%. Senator Nelson’s prescription to improve our economy has been to vote over 150 times in the Senate for higher taxes, vote to undermine the Reagan-era tax cuts, the Bush-era tax cuts, and to cast one of the deciding votes for the largest tax increase in American history – ObamaCare. No matter how many times Bill Nelson is going to try to change the subject, what matters most to all Floridians is jobs; and Bill Nelson has failed.”
Rep. Allen West (R-FL): “This month’s unemployment figures demonstrate once again that the policies of President Obama and Patrick Murphy’s Democrat party are failing Americans. That is probably why last night the President was back to hope and change, but said nothing of his signature policies — the failed stimulus and the destructive government healthcare takeover. Regarding jobs created and a supposed economic recovery, President Obama and Patrick Murphy can spin, distort and even lie, but the numbers do not.”

Failed Obama policies and programs have put us on this sluggish growth path.
It will be decades and decades until America will recover.
NO to slow recovery.
We NEED a jumpstart in jobs! We can’t afford slow growth.
