Conservative Group Uses Canadian In New Ad

September 04, 2012 at 9:18 am

The conservative group Americans for Prosperity on Monday released a new ad, featuring a Canadian who warns of the perils of an Obama-care style healthcare law.

In the 60-second spot, Shona Holmes says she turned to the U.S. medical system for treatment of her brain condition because the wait for a specialist in Canada would have been too long.

As Holmes recounts her ordeal, text on the screen says that “under President Obama, America’s health care is becoming more like the Canadian system that failed Shona.”

The latest ad from the Koch-brother-backed group, entitled “Replace,” is part of a $6.2 million ad buy in Florida and 10 other swing states.

“To protect Americans patient-centered care, we must replace president Obama,” an announcer says in the ad.
