The Republican National Convention 2012 gets under way Tuesday with a full slate of events and speakers. Here’s a look at the schedule for Florida delegates:
“Fresh From Florida” Breakfast
Tuesday delegates will gather at the Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor for at a breakfast hosted by Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam. The 8 a.m. event features U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio as a guest speaker.
“We built it”
That’s the theme for Tuesday’s Republican National Convention, which begins at 2 p.m.
Chairman of the RNC Reince Priebus will open the convention, which will recess at 6:40 p.m. And reconvene at 7 p.m. with remarks from Speaker John Boehner, Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney and the convention’s keynote address by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Harrell at center of women’s health launch
National Foundation of Women Legislators’ lunch reception and Women’s Health Initiative launch. State Rep. Gayle Harrell, the organization’s chairwomen, will emcee the 1 p.m. event at the Center For Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation in Tampa, which is expected to feature Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll as the guest speaker.
Newt University
A series of two-hour public policy workshops for delegates designed to expound upon the overall messages of the convention, featuring former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The 10 a.m. Event is being held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa.
Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure Luncheon
Florida’s 99 delegates and guests are invited to a lunch being served at the The Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater.
