Florida Gov. Rick Scott has canceled his Republican National Convention activities planned for Tuesday to focus on Tropical Storm Isaac, his office said Sunday.
On Saturday, Scott announced that he would not be participating in Monday’s opening day of the four-day convention, where he was scheduled to speak.
Scott has been operating out of Tampa at an RNC emergency operations center where he is receiving storm briefings.
On Saturday, convention officials announced they were canceling Monday’s activities due to severe weather warnings.
RNC officials have scheduled a conference call for 5:45 pm to discuss the convention schedule changes.
