Florida Leg of Romney’s Bus Tour To Kick Off At Flagler College

August 09, 2012 at 12:57 pm

Mitt Romney will speak at a campaign rally at Flagler College in St. Augustine on Monday morning, the first stop in his three-city tour through Florida. GOP chair Lenny Curry told WOKV.com the event is free and open to the public.

Following his appearance in St. Augustine, Romney will travel to Orlando before finishing his day in Miami (Note: Romney’s Spanish-speaking son, Craig, will stump for his father at a mid-day rally in Miami).

The Florida trip is part of Romney’s four-day, swing state bus tour that will also take him to Virginia, North Carolina, and Ohio.

News of the “Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class” bus tour has set off speculation in the media that the former Massachusetts governor will announce his running mate during one of the stop.

Coinciding with Romney’s bus tour, the Obama campaign has released a new ad in Florida and the three other states on the Republican candidate’s route, entitled “Son of Boss.” The ad raises the prospect that Romney may have skirted paying taxes altogether.

“Did Romney pay 10 percent in taxes? Five percent? Zero?” the narrator in the spot asks. “We don’t know.”
