Rubio To Campaign For Romney In NV and CO

July 24, 2012 at 9:51 am

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is set to make some high profile surrogate appearances on behalf of Mitt Romney next week in Colorado and Nevada, ABC News reports.

A source with knowledge of the events told ABC News Rubio will campaign for Romney at a rally at Rubio’s old elementary school in Las Vegas, NV, Saturday followed by a rally in Denver, CO, later that day. Rubio also will participate in finance events for Romney while in the area.

In other Rubio news, the Florida tea party favorite endorsed Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) who is running in one of the nation’s toughest election battles against Democrat candidate Elizabeth Warren.

In an e-mail to supporters, Rubio bashed Warren as “an extreme liberal who was nominated by Harry Reid to oversee the failed TARP program.”

“If elected, she will be a reliable vote for the failed liberal policies that have created record debt, prolonged unemployment, and a diminished future for our country,” Rubio added.

In the e-mail, Rubio acknowledged his differences with Brown but added that he was a better option than Warren.

“Scott and I don’t agree on everything, but I know Scott is a dedicated husband, loving father, and principled public servant,” Rubio said. “He believes in cutting spending, reining in our debt, balancing our budget, and repealing Obamacare. He’s been an independent voice for common sense in Washington, and has kept his campaign promises to the people of Massachusetts.”

The Rubio e-mail includes a fundraising pitch for donations of $25 to $100 to “ensure Scott has the resources he needs to defeat Elizabeth Warren and her liberal agenda.”
