Rubio Endorses Hasner In FL-22

February 28, 2012 at 6:02 pm

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) officially endorsed House candidate Adam Hasner (R)– his friend from their days together in the Florida House.

In announcing his endorsement, Rubio said: “As my Majority Leader in the Florida House, Adam Hasner and I worked side-by-side taking on the status quo in Tallahassee and together we can do the same thing in Washington.”
Rubio said Hasner’s “record of cutting red tape and wasteful spending is well known and his leadership on energy policy and critical national security issues will make him immediately effective in Congress”

Hasner was selected to serve as the Deputy Majority Leader of the House by then-Speaker Marco Rubio in 2007 and promoted by Rubio to Majority Leader later that year.

Hasner had been running in the GOP Senate primary to take on Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL), but abandoned the bid to run for Rep. Allen West’s vacated-Congressional seat.
