Florida Leader Among Obama Campaign Co-Chairs

Obama for America today announced the  national co-chairs for the President’s re-election campaign. It’s a diverse list that includes the likes of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, actress Eva Longoria , former OH Gov. Ted Strickland, Chicago Mayor and former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and MA Gov. Deval Patrick.

Among the 35 campaign co-chairs is Lynnette Acosta, an Obama for America volunteer leader from Florida. Acosta graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 2000, before beginning her professional career with General Electric. After five years in the corporate world, she met her husband with whom she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras. Since her return, she has been living in Central Florida, raising her two children, and working as a Fellow with Organizing for America.

“The president’s national co-chairs will be tremendous assets on the ground as we build the biggest grassroots campaign in history,” Obama’s campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement.
